about us
We believe that fresh nutritious produce should be accessible to everyone. That’s why we’ve created a state-of-the-art greenhouses that combine latest technology with sustainable farming practices to produce the freshest, most nutritious crops possible. Our team of experienced growers and agronomists work tirelessly to cultivate a wide variety of leafy greens and vegetables that are free from harmful chemicals and pesticides. From crisp lettuce and juicy cucumbers to vibrant peppers and fragrant herbs, we strive to provide our customers with a diverse selection of high-quality produce that’s as delicious as it is healthy.
But we don’t just grow plants at our greenhouse; we’re also passionate about innovation and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. That’s why we are constantly experimenting with new techniques to improve our growing processes and minimize our environmental impact. From solar panels and rainwater collection to advanced hydroponic systems and computer-controlled climate zones, we’re always looking for ways to make our greenhouses more efficient, sustainable, and productive.
At the heart of our operation is a deep respect for the planet and the people who inhabit it. We believe that by creating a thriving local food system, we can help build a more resilient and equitable future for all. Whether you’re a health-conscious consumer looking for fresh, nutritious produce or a chef seeking the finest ingredients for your kitchen, we’re committed to providing you with the best possible experience.
Thank you for visiting our website. We look forward to sharing our passion for sustainable agriculture and delicious food with you!
The Sustainability Crisis
A growing global population and changing diets are driving up the demand for food. Production is struggling to keep up as crop yields level off in many parts of the world, ocean health declines, and natural resources—including soil, water, and biodiversity—are stretched thin. The food security challenge will only become more difficult, as the world will need to produce about 70 percent more food by 2050 to feed an estimated 9 billion people. The challenge is intensified by agriculture’s extreme vulnerability to climate change. Climate change’s negative impacts are already being felt, in the form of increasing temperatures, weather variability, shifting agroecosystem boundaries, invasive crops and pests, and more frequent extreme weather events. This is especially true in Sri Lanka, which is often ranked amongst the most vulnerable countries to climate change on the Global Climate Risk Index.
Our Approach
To address the food security challenge at our doorstep, we’ve adopted a Climate-Smart Agricultural approach, that addresses the interlinked challenges of food security and climate change. Our trained agronomists utilize advanced climate control technology to maintain a controlled environment in our hydroponic greenhouse, where we optimize the inputs of water, nutrients, and light, to feed our crops. We hope to achieve three objectives:
Enhance Productivity
Produce higher volumes and more nutritious food to improve food security and boost incomes, especially of the population in and around Bopitiya, a rural town in Warakapola that relies on agriculture for its livelihoods.
Increase Resilience
Reduce vulnerability to drought, pests, diseases and other climate-related risks and shocks; and improve capacity to adapt and grow in the face of longer-term stresses like shortened seasons and erratic weather patterns.
Improve Sustainability
We utilize hydroponics and advanced climate control technology to optimize the inputs of water, nutrients, and light to feed our crops.
